Spring Time
STRAWBERRY FIELDS (check the Fresh News to make sure the berries are in season), No admission or parking fees, simply pay for the fruit you pick and/or the activities you wish to participate in. You can spend a little or a lot, just depends on your preference. There is no minimum or maximum amount of fruit you pick but you will be responsible for what you do harvest.
Each picking box can hold 8 or so pounds of berries on the high side, Strawberries are $3.25 per pound. New picking boxes are 75 cents each, or you can bring the box back from a previous visit. Berries must be harvested into a Sweet Berry Farm picking box so we know how much to subtract from the total weight at checkout. We highly recommend only getting the amount of boxes you want to go home with full. It is VERY HARD to stop picking when the berries are plentiful and beautiful (especially for kids who don't realize the cost). Sharing Boxes is encouraged (unless of course you want four full boxes worth - then we are all for it!).
TULIP Fields: Be sure to watch the fresh news late February/early March for tulips 2023. $5 per person admission fee. No parking fees, also pay $2.00 per Tulip you pick. Harvest baskets are provided free of charge as well as a wrapping station (tissue paper, gel etc.) to take your tulips home in. Why the admission fee? Tulips are hard to grow and there is one flower per bulb. The beckoning of a Tulip field is the opportunity to take amazing pictures as well as harvest this delicate flower. In our zeal for that perfect picture it is hard not to damage the surrounding plants yielding them useless to future use. An admission fee helps to cover some of the cost of that damage.
