Spring Time:
When is the best time to come to the farm? The majority of our patrons arrive at the farm between 10:30am and 1pm. The closer you can get to 'opening' hour - the fewer the folks and the largest supply of ripe berries. Thursday is the best day of the week to come (we are closed Wednesday). How do I get to Sweet Berry Farm? Do not trust your GPS or Internet Maps to get to the farm, lots of folks have been getting lost using these. Check out our Directions link. Do you accept credit cards? Yes! Can I bring my dog? No pets or emotional support animals are allowed. Service dogs ARE allowed. Pets and pets that provide emotional support are NOT recognized as service animals under current ADA regulations. Is there food available? Only in March and April, We serve sandwiches and snacks along with our HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY LEMONADE and FARM DONUTS. Outside food and drinks (non alcoholic) are allowed. We have plenty of shaded picnic tables to use. Firepits/grills are not available nor are they allowed to be brought in. Is there an entrance fee? There is no entrance fee to the farm. You pay for the produce picked and activities you want to do. Exceptions: TULIPS and SUNFLOWERS. These two events have a $5 entry fee per person. What is in season right now? It all depends on the weather but normally.... Mid-March through Mid May: Strawberries Late February, March - Tulips March/April - Ranunculus June - Sunflowers Do I need to bring a container to pick fruit into? No. Outside containers are not allowed. Bring your old Sweet Berry Farm box, or purchase a new one for just $1. Fruit must be weighed in our boxes so we can subtract the tare weight. Do I have to make a reservation to visit? Only school groups are required to make reservations. General public are encouraged to come anytime during business hours. Are you open on holidays? We are open Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Mothers Day, and Memorial Day if there is fruit available. Can I come to the farm on Wednesday? No. The farm is closed ALL Wednesdays. What do you recommend that I wear? You should wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes. You might want to bring your sunscreen and sun shades too. ON MUDDY DAYS: Make sure to bring extra shoes and a bag to put your dirty shoes in. Due to water regulations in our area, it is FORBIDDEN to wash off dirty shoes/hands/feet from mud. Is your farm organic? No, we are not organic. We use fertilizers on our crops along with the occasional use of pesticides to control diseases and insects. We are very conscious of the products we might use and everyone's safety is of upmost importance. We have set damage thresholds (we can tolerate some damage) and will not make an application until these thresholds are passed. Our biggest culprits are Anthracnose, Botrytis Gray Mold (in long wet conditions) and Spider Mites (in hot windy dry conditions) on Strawberries. Any application we make is done so as a last resort. I (Farmer Dan) eat the berries right off the plant like they are candy but you might want to wash at least the dirt off before eating. |
Fall Time:
Parking: It doesn't look like we will have the workers to have 8 guys in the parking lot to direct traffic, so here is the layout: The Farm is divided right down the middle by FM 1980 (there is a pedestrian tunnel under the road connecting the two sides). IF coming from Marble Falls direction, you will be heading North on FM 1980. The LEFT side of the road has the Zinnias, Hayride, Barnyard Maze, Texas Maze and Barrel Train on it. The RIGHT side of the road will open up, which has the Berry Bounce, Pony Rides, Candy Corn Kid Maze, Sand Art, Stuff a Scarecrow, Paint a Pumpkin and Pumpkins and more zinnias to pick. Invariably, the right side parking lot fills up first. If so, just head over to the other side of the road. Please remember to pull up all the way to the rope when parking and try to be patient with us. We don't charge for parking but realize it is a pain in the neck when the lot gets crazy on weekends in mid October. What is the best day to come out? Weekdays are normally not busy. Weekends can get very busy, especially the two right before Halloween. The earlier you come in October, the least chance of a crowd. The first weekend in November is like having the farm to yourself. Check out our crowd calendar on the home page. What time should we arrive to the farm? The majority of our patrons arrive at the farm between 10:30am and 1pm. If you can get to the farm before 10am you will beat the rush. The closer you can get to 'opening' hours - the fewer folks you will be around and the more time you will have for the activities - we highly recommend coming early. How do I get to Sweet Berry Farm? No pets or emotional support animals are allowed. Service dogs ARE allowed. Pets and pets that provide emotional support are NOT recognized as service animals under current ADA regulations. Do you have food to buy? The Pumpkin Grille is open from 10-4 on WEEKENDS ONLY in October. They serve hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pickles, chips, and drinks. Is there an entrance fee? There is not an entrance or parking fee. Just pay for the activities you wish to participate in or the pumpkins you choose. There are lots of things to do and the bill can add up quickly so be careful. Do I have to make a reservation to visit? No. General public are encouraged to come any time during regular business hours. Only school groups and birthday parties are required to make reservations. Are you open on Columbus Day and Halloween? Yes. Can I come to the farm on Wednesday? No. The Farm is closed on ALL Wednesdays. What do you recommend that I wear? You should wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes. You might want to bring your sunscreen and sun shades. Look at the weather before wearing a sweater to our nice "fall" days. It can be hot. Do you grow the Pumpkins? Nope, Farmer Dan is a terrible pumpkin grower. All the pumpkins come from pumpkin growing professionals - mainly in the Floydada, Texas area. |
Are your jams, ice cream, smoothies, lemonade and Popsicles made by you?
Everything with our label on it is made by us here on the farm. Each year we harvest and freeze our own homegrown produce to use in the making of these items. The exception to this is the pumpkin ice cream. We make the 'pumpkin' Ice cream at the farm but do not put up the pumpkins our self.
How long can I stay?
Once you arrive you may stay as long as you'd like, until we close the fields.
We close at 5:30 most days and 5:00 on Sundays. That means you should be leaving or getting in your car to leave at this time. Ticket sales will stop prior to closing time to help ensure you are able to complete all of your activities. Please respect the farm's private property and the staffs time by being considerate of our closing time.
Are strollers allowed?
Overall, yes. They are not allowed in any of the mazes or inside some activity areas (sand art, face paint, etc.), and are not recommended in the strawberry and flower fields.
Do you have diaper changing areas? Yes! We have 3 diaper changing stations. One located in the main parking lot, one located by the goat tree house, and one by the Texas Maze.
Is professional photography allowed?
During business hours there is no charge for professional photographers. However, we ask that you follow these guidelines:

Can I bring a picnic?
Yes! We have a lovely partially shaded picnic area under the trees along our fence line. We have plenty of picnic tables, but we recommend bringing a blanket in case they are all full. Outside food and drink is allowed. Please leave your alcohol at home.
Can I reserve a picnic table?
We do not currently have a reservation system in place for reserving picnic tables. This includes birthday parties. Picnic tables are first come first served.
Do you have restrooms?
Yes, we have portable restrooms on both sides of the farm. Restrooms are sanitized regularly and cleaned out weekly.
Do you have a hand washing station?
No. We have many hand sanitizing stations around the farm. We recommend bringing hand wipes. You cannot use any of our water supply to wash dirt/mud/mess off of your hands or feet.
Are you handicap accessible?
This is a difficult question, and really depends on the capability of the person(s) visiting and the limitations of the particular disability. However, we are a production farm and as such, we have no paved surfaces. Parking is on gravel, and the farm is mostly grass/dirt, with a few main paths on granite gravel. Terrain can be bumpy at times, and depending on our most recent rain, it may be wet, soft, or muddy in spots. We offer marked handicapped parking spaces close to our entrance, and we have handicapped accessible portable restrooms. The flower/strawberry rows are not wide enough for a wheelchair or walker but the outside rows and the end of rows are accessible. The farm is spread out over 60 acres so there is a lot of ground to cover. We have lots of benches and picnic tables all around the farm to rest.
Do you allow drones?
No.
