Tulip PickingTypically available Late February - Early March
(Availability is greatly affected by temperatures, check here often for updates as early as Late January) $5 entry fee to the tulip field $2.50 per stem Harvest baskets for Tulips are provided free of charge as well as a wrapping station to take your tulips home in. |
Strawberry Fields (March thru May): No admission or parking fee, simply pay for the fruit you pick or the activities you wish to participate in.
You can spend a little or a lot, just depends on your preference. The picking boxes each hold up to 8 pounds of berries. The first visit, your boxes will be one dollar each, after that, you can bring your box back to the farm again and again at no charge (except your berries of course). At the checkout counter we will subtract the container weight so you are charged only for the weight of the fruit. There is no minimum or maximum amount of fruit you have to pick but you will be responsible for what you do pick (purchase your berries before eating them at the picnic tables please). TULIP Fields (Left side of FM 1980) - when blooming (check the Fresh News): $5 per person admission fee. No parking fees, also pay $2.50 per Tulip you pick. Harvest baskets for Tulips are provided free of charge as well as a wrapping station (tissue paper, gel etc.) to take your tulips home in. Why the admission fee? Tulips are hard to grow and there is one flower per bulb. The beckoning of a Tulip field is the opportunity to take amazing pictures as well as harvest this delicate flower. In our zeal for that perfect picture it is hard not to damage the surrounding plants yielding them useless to future use. An admission fee helps to cover some of the cost of that damage. The picnic tables are free for use, no admission (for strawberry picking) or parking charge. You don't really have to buy anything, just come on out and enjoy the experience (you probably want to at least get a Strawberry Popsicle - they are awesome!) |
