5/29/2025 1 Comment Thursday Morning 5/29The Sunflowers are beautiful ......... the field is a bit muddy. The Farm has been on the receiving end of some very beneficial rains of late. While most of the areas are grass covered and easily walkable, inside the Sunflower field is muddy. It will dry out a bit through the day, this is one of those days coming early would not be the best idea.
Did you see the forecast high for tomorrow - 83 degrees. Whaaaaat?!! Super nice. We have another chance of rain tonight but then a few days of drying so the weekend looks like it might be pretty nice.

5/27/2025 0 Comments May 27, 2025A beautiful morning on the farm today! We got quite a bit of rain last night that has left the sunflower field muddy. If visiting the farm today, I recommend bringing some rain boots to do the picking in. Sunflowers are still standing tall and looking great! Can't wait to have y'all out soon.
5/26/2025 0 Comments May 26, 2025Boy oh Boy these sunflowers look great! We're enjoying looking at the flowers, and y'all are too! They are leaving the field by the bucket full, but not to worry, we are hardly making a dent on the 15,000 that are currently in bloom. We're in peak bloom right now that should last until about June 1st. We will have sunflowers in bloom until at least June 8th. $5 entry to the field for ages 2 and up. Sunflowers are not mandatory to pick, but if you want to they are priced by the stem. 1-11 stems: $2.00 each 12-23 stems: $1.50 each and 24+ stems are only $1.00 each! We have all our activities going on as well, goats to feed, bouncy pad, paint a pot, sand art, goat rides, and barrel train! See you soon!
5/23/2025 1 Comment May 23, 2025Good Morning! We had a nice little storm roll through the farm last night. The good news is that all the sunflowers have weathered the storm! We are going to be a little muddy this morning but it already looks like the ground is drying up quickly. We are in peak bloom right now! Now is the time to come for the sunflowers! We have about a 1 week window here that the majority of our crop will be in bloom. Strawberry season has ended for the spring. We are already missing them. Can't wait to have you out for some farm fun!
5/19/2025 0 Comments Monday evening 5/19 We had a nice little shower this morning. It seemed like a lot but was only 4 hundredths, just enough to settle the dust. At this time of year we will take whatever we can get, so Praise the Lord for 4 hundredths.
It is Sunflower season and the field is putting on a show! Every day more and more blooms pop out. They are such a pretty flower and just brighten up everything around them. According to my kids (they are the ones in charge of Sunflowers) we should have blooms for another month at least. Strawberry season is practically over. I saw a few boxes of nice berries picked today and there will be a few tomorrow but the picking will not be easy. I am embarrassed to let you in the Strawberry field because weed growth has exploded.. Little by little we have started removing the plants, plastic and drip in order to renovate the fields. But as long as there are some berries - we will let you brave the elements to get them. The Farm grounds are in great shape and the activities are fun. We hope to see you soon. 5/18/2025 0 Comments Sunday Morning 5/18Aw, man! I didn't post last night. Sorry, y'all. Quick update: Strawberry picking is going to be hard to day. Ripe fruit is few and far between with not a lot of other fruit preparing to ripen. We are just about at the end of strawberry season. but Man Alive! These sunflowers are popping up like crazy! We have 16/43 rows blooming currently. It looks just great! Just yellow blooms showing now, but colors look like they will arrive later this week. We've got farm fun and everyone is loving these baby goats. See you soon!
5/15/2025 0 Comments Thursday evening 5/15The Sunflower field is starting to put on a show! Boy o Boy do they grow fast! Tomorrow is the last "no admission" day to the Sunflower field. The Field looks fantastic and the beautiful blooms are sure to make you smile. The plants are getting pretty tall so be sure to keep an eye on the kids or you might find yourself playing marco/polo.
Starting Saturday - there is no general admission to the Farm, Strawberries, Animals and Activities but there will be a $5 admission into the Sunflower field. I saw several full boxes of red ripe Strawberries leave today but it is not pleasant picking. The season is essentially over and the field is beginning to become weedy. There are still some berries to pick for those interested in the hunt. Mornings are definitely recommended as afternoons are getting pretty toasty. The Farm grounds are in great shape and the Activities are in full swing. Hope to see you soon! 5/13/2025 0 Comments Tuesday evening 5/13Please remember - we are closed all Wednesdays.
Are you staying cool? it said 104 today but it didn't feel like it to me. hmm. Tomorrow is supposed to be the warmest and then temps drop a bit. Thursday: Sunflowers: there should be lots of beautiful flowers to pick. My daughters and son in law are in charge of the Sunflower planting and I must say they do a very good job. The plants are nice and healthy and the field looks great. Strawberries: the season is practically over. Everyone will still be able to browse the fields and pick a few but nothing like the berries of a month ago. Fun Activities: Going strong Farm grounds - in great shape, little to no mud on the farm now and the grass is nice and green. Hope to see you soon! 5/11/2025 0 Comments Sunday evening 5/11Happy Mothers Day!!!!!! We hope you all had a wonderful day because ...... you deserve it! So many smiling faces today on the Farm. It was a great day and a great start to Sunflower Season.
Have you seen the forecast highs for this coming week?! I just checked three different forecasts to verify each other. 91 tomorrow, 102 Tuesday, 106 Wednesday (whaaaat?!) and several 100's after that. Today was only 83 and I felt like it was hot, can you imagine how I will feel in a couple of days? Mornings are still nice so now it is going to be even more important to come in the mornings. The Strawberry season is continuing to limp to the finish line. I don't expect hardly any berries to pick Monday and Tuesday (Closed Wednesday) so that means Thursday morning will be the next best time to get some. The plants do not like the heat so it will be interesting to see what the next few days do to them. Sunflowers! Is it possible to look at a Sunflower and maintain a frown? I think not. They are just a happy flower (unless you are a real row crop farmer and they are a nuisance weed --- lucky for us we are play farmers). Today pretty much wiped out the open blooms but don't despair because they are just about to explode! Thursday will be the next best day for Sunflowers too. So - open tomorrow and Tuesday with lots of fun activities, almost no berries or flowers to pick. Open Thursday through Sunday with fun activities, lots of Sunflowers and maybe some Strawberries depending on the day. Hope to see you soon!! 5/10/2025 0 Comments Saturday Afternoon 5/10Eeekkk! We’re so excited to see the first sunflower blooms! While not plentiful… we are still opening up the field for our Mother’s Day pickers! Be sure to get here at 1 for the best supply of flowers!
Flowers are priced on a sliding scale with 1-11 stems $2.00 each 12-23 stems $1.50 each and 24+ stems only $1.00 each! Strawberry picking will be slim tomorrow. But we have all kid activities open and it will be a great day to be on the farm. Hope to see you soon! |
