4/18/2025 0 Comments Friday afternoon 4/18 It was a great day. A bit (a lot) windier than I expected. Tomorrow we have a healthy chance of rain in the afternoon, The Farm is pretty dry so a little moisture sure would be nice to settle the dust and wash us off a bit.
The Strawberry and Flower fields have been picked pretty hard. We will only be picking in the fields at the main farm tomorrow. I would expect to see some berries and flowers picked first thing in the morning. The earlier you can make it out, the better the picking will be. Everyone will be allowed to pick and there is usually something to pick throughout the day, I am simply saying it gets harder and harder to find berries and flowers the longer the day goes. The animals are loving the attention, there is lots of room to run and play, the activities are fun, the Lemonade at the Concessions is delicious, the Ice Cream has been cold and folks seem to be having a good ole fashioned relaxing time. Come on out and enjoy the day with us, we would love to have you.

4/17/2025 0 Comments Thursday afternoon 4/17The weather this morning was glorious, I hope tomorrow is the same.
I am happy to report that Strawberry picking tomorrow morning will be better than I expected. At this time of year it is always best to come early just to make sure you have the best selection to choose from and the temperatures are more pleasant. Tomorrow, the best picking will by far be in the FIELD TRIP field. Coming from Marble Falls, turn LEFT at the Field Trip sign. We have boxes and cashiers there as well. When that field gets cleaned out I will shut the gate and direct everyone to the right side of the road. We won't know how much will be available for Saturday and Sunday until we see how many pickers show up tomorrow, be sure to check here for updates. Still a few Ranunculus flowers to pick but they are going fast. The Flower field has been a bright spot this year yielding beautiful bouquets of .gorgeous flowers. Unfortunately their season is just about finished. The Farm grounds look great, maybe a little dry but overall fantastic. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. The Fun Spring Activities will be going, Concessions will be open, the Homemade Ice Cream and Lemonade will be cold and the goats will be hungry. There is no admission or parking fee here, we suggest just walking around a bit, get a feel of the farm and then purchase some tickets if you decide to do something. Hope to see you soon! 4/15/2025 1 Comment Tuesday evening 4/15Please remember - closed ALL Wednesdays
It looks like the temperatures are going to creep up again. Mornings would be preferable Thursday and Friday not only because the afternoon temperatures but also Strawberries and Flowers are limited. The more pickers in front of you, the less available for you to pick. Today we picked almost 300 pounds but that was tough scattered picking. Thursday will be a little better because no one is picking tomorrow, and Friday morning could be good because we are going to get in the Field Trip field.. I believe the picking will be pretty poor Saturday and Sunday but if I scare everyone off then that could change. One thing for sure, we will be here with smiling faces, lots of room to run, three massive jumping pillows, Sandart, Paint A Pot, Goat racers, a Barrel Train, Hungry goats and more. Hope to see you soon! 4/14/2025 0 Comments Monday afternoon 4/14Yep, a little dry and toasty today. Ooohhhh, a high near 80 tomorrow is going to be greeeaaaat! A few more Strawberries will be available in the morning but still not a lot. ditto for Flowers. Thursday morning will be a little better and Friday morning even a little better than Thursday IF we can keep 240 School kids on Thursday from going nuts in the Field Trip field. The Ice Cream is cold and all the activities are running, families are having fun just not a lot of berries to pick. Hope to see you soon!
4/13/2025 0 Comments Sunday evening 4/12Whew! what a day. It felt like summer to me with a pretty stiff blowing wind. Shorts or loose clothing was preferable. Tomorrow looks to be another warm one before maybe we get a little cooler temps - yay!
The Farm is open normal hours this week (closed Wednesday), even Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Strawberries will be hard to find tomorrow and Tuesday. We will be picking at the main farm fields Mon, Tues and Thursday. There will be some berries tomorrow but far and few between. I hope to have some Thursday and Friday morning to pick but probably not Saturday or Sunday. The heat is putting the flower field down pretty fast. I believe this will be the last week for flowers ....... until Sunflowers! The sunflower plants look great and we hope to be picking them by May 23rd or a tad earlier!!! All the activities will be running and we are looking forward to a few lazy days. Hope to see you soon! 4/12/2025 2 Comments Saturday afternoon 4/12Wow! what a great day! Thanks!
Please remember, 1pm to 5pm on Sundays in the Spring. It was pretty warm this afternoon so be ready for the heat if coming tomorrow. Tomorrow Concessions will be open with fresh Strawberry Lemonade and goodies to eat, the activities will be running full steam, the freshly made Ice Cream is cold, there are flowers to pick but I do not expect to have many ripe Strawberries in the fields. Todays crowd worked the fields over pretty good, we started out with berries but by 2pm it was getting tough picking. Normally we can ripen up 100 or 200 pounds overnight but I think that would be a stretch for tomorrow because we picked them too hard today. Of course we will be here with smiling faces and the kiddos can still have a great time. The animals always like the lovin' and will be happy to see you! 4/11/2025 0 Comments Friday afternoon 4/11 Boy o Boy, the weather in the mornings has been wonderful. Afternoons too but with full sunshine it feels a little warm. The Farm is beginning to get a little dry again, certainly no reason to worry about mud except in the place the irrigation leaked. We decided when we started the farm we would not attempt it without water. God blessed us with several irrigation wells - Thank You! As a result our green belts are green and the Farm grounds look pretty good. The Pecan Trees in the picnic area are starting to leaf out. Come sit at one of the fifty two tables and relax a bit, take the edge off, unwind, slowdown, enjoy nature and listen to the goats,
The Strawberry picking is going to be light tomorrow. Picking earlier in the day will be easier than later. We are going to start the day picking on both sides of the road. Since we stayed off of the Field Trip Side (left) today we might have a few more berries there in the morning. As soon as the Field Trip field gets picked we will close that gate. But if you want to just make one stop, come on to the main farm entrance. The Flower field is still producing beautiful Ranunculus but it is definitely on the way out. Children sure have been having fun with all the activities. Each activity is individually priced. We suggest walking around the farm first and then grab a ticket if you decide to do something. Concessions will be open again this weekend with Strawberry Lemonade and a few things to eat. Hope to see you soon! 4/11/2025 0 Comments Friday morning 4/11Good Morning! It looks like another wonderful day. Afternoons are starting to get a little warm though, The Farm is nice and dry. Comfortable clothes would be fine over the next few days.
I believe everyone coming today will get all the Strawberries they want, but I am a little concerned about tomorrow. It is very hard to predict availability, I think we are getting into a pattern of ripe berries to pick every morning. I don't see any flush of berries coming. Flowers are still hanging on! The field has definitely peaked, There are still beautiful flowers to pick but sooner is better than later to get flowers. Hope to see you soon. 4/10/2025 0 Comments Thursday morning 4/10Good Morning! The sun is out in brilliant form and the birds are singing, it is going to be a wonderful day..
Strawberries: picking on both sides of the road again today - I recommend the Left (Field Trip) side of the road. There might be a few more Berries available on the Field Trip side and the beds are a little taller (the soil there is more conducive to a better shaped bed). But if you are coming for flowers and berries just come on in to the main farm for one stop shopping. Hope to see you soon! 4/7/2025 0 Comments Monday evening 4/7 The picking was not quite as good as I expected today. Everyone found plenty of berries but I thought it would be a little easier to get them. Tomorrow should be the same. Ripe Berry supply is better in the Field Trip Field (left side of the road) or you can stay on the main farm side - your choice. The Flowers are still beautiful but are definitely on the down side of the bell curve. I hope we can get them to Easter but it will be close.
The weather is spectacular (we had a light freeze this morning! I can't find any damage though). it is absolutely wonderful. We have some pregnant goats in the pen that should drop any day now. Most folks enjoy watching a birth but be prepared to do some explaining to your children. I once heard a teenage boy say "that's gross" to which his mom laughingly replied "hmmm, someday you are going to experience that first hand". |
