3/28/2025 1 Comment Friday evening March 28What a wonderful 1.2 inches of rain. Nice and slow, a Farmers Rain that had time to soak in. And most of it has done just that, soaked in. The Parking Lot and Green Belts are already dried out.
Strawberries: I expect tremendous picking for at least a week. The plants and berries badly needed a washing and already look much happier. The fields are loaded with ripe berries just waiting for you. The only problem now is stopping - remember, each box holds ABOUT $22 level full. Ranunculus Flowers look Amazing. That flower field is putting on a show. This will be a great weekend for them. All the activities are going great and everyone is smiling from the recent rains. I think it will not be hard to stay mud free and it won't be hard to find a pocket of mud - better keep an eye on the children. Hope to see you soon!!!!!!

3/28/2025 0 Comments Friday morning 9:30A little drizzle is falling, just enough to make you wet after about 30 minutes. The forecast calls for some clearing this afternoon and there is nothing on the radar. Come on out or maybe wait until the afternoon. Not muddy but the ground is wet. It is going to be a great day and great weekend. More updates to follow.
3/27/2025 2 Comments Thursday late afternoonSooooo it did start drizzling late morning and has been steady all afternoon. Most of the time we just dodge rain cells that come and go but it has been a constant dribble all day. So far we are only up to a third of an inch of rain which will dry up pretty fast when the sun comes out. We still have a good chance of rain through the night and tomorrow morning. The Field Trip Field, on the left side of the road, is still loaded and better drained than the main Farm side - that is where most of the picking will be tomorrow. We will put up an update in the morning.
Not Spring Break week plus a uptick in production equals a plethora of ripe Strawberries and Flowers to pick. This will be a great weekend to come get them. 3/27/2025 0 Comments Thursday morning 8amNo rain here at the farm last night. And at the moment, none on the radar heading our way. The picking this morning will be very good. The Field Trip field, on the LEFT side of the road, will be open and I suggest picking Strawberries there.. If you are bringing kiddos and just want to make one stop - the main farm has a good supply of berries too. Keep an eye on the radar as we have rain chances throughout the day. Regardless the Farm will be open rain or shine. Hope to see you soon!
3/26/2025 0 Comments Wednesday afternoon 3/26/25 We have a healthy chance of rain in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday. It is important to remember that normally that means a shower comes through, clears up and then maybe another shower. A little rain sure would be nice to wash the berries off and settle this dust. We will certainly take whatever we can get.
The Farm will be Open rain or shine. The Strawberries, Flowers and Fun will be in ample supply. There are Strawberries on both sides of the road and folks are welcome to pick either. The LEFT side of the road (turn left at the Field Trip Sign) will have a greater supply of berries and the field will be better drained (less mud) if we do get some rain tonight. We will try to make a post in the morning by 9am concerning field conditions. Flowers: Tulip season is over (did it ever really get started?). I was asked why the Tulip season was so bad to which I responded "Heat, Wind and mostly ignorance. I am a very poor Tulip grower" All of which is true :). The Ranunculus field is a bright spot and the flowers are very pretty - be sure to check them out. More Strawberries: As long as we don't have a disaster, It appears we will have a ample supply of Strawberries through most, if not all, of April. Let's hope. 3/25/2025 1 Comment Tuesday evening 3/25Please remember the Farm is closed all Wednesdays.
Thursday will be great Strawberry and Ranunculus picking. Tulip season is over. Gotta run, will update again tomorrow. 3/24/2025 0 Comments Monday evening 3/24Today was great picking across the road and tomorrow will be even better! Again, pick on the LEFT side of the road tomorrow. The fields at the main farm are recovering and will be nice Thursday.
Flowers are doing great as well as everything else here. The only thing we are missing is you, come see us. The picture below is one row of about 100 that look like this. Taken this afternoon. Those berries almost ripe will be ripe tomorrow. 3/24/2025 2 Comments Monday morning 3/24Missed us by that much ....... not a drop here on the farm last night. I watched the radar as the rain would dissipate just before it reached us. I see some of you got a pretty good shower - good for you. Our time is coming, maybe Thursday.
Strawberries, Flowers, Ice Cream and fun activities will be fantastic today. Since most of the kiddos are back in school, we expect a slow relaxing day. Hope to see you soon. 3/23/2025 1 Comment Sunday evening March 23Yessssss! While todays picking wasn't too good ....... the fields are turning the corner and I expect the ripe berry supply to be stellar every day this coming week (closed Wednesday). At 3pm this afternoon I opened the field on the left side of the road. A good many people picked berries there that were mostly ripe. By tomorrow they should be outstanding.
So tomorrow, FOR STRAWBERRIES, turn left at the white house where it says Field Trips and proceed to the Field Trip parking where the field is. This field is on the opposite side of the road as the main farm. We plan to pick in Block E (the one across the road) tomorrow, Tuesday and Friday. This should take some of the pressure off the main fields allowing them to recover nicely for next Saturday and Sunday. You have no idea how happy it makes us to say "You bet! There is lots of berries to pick" The main farm will still be open with AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL PLENTIFUL FLOWERS, Ice Cream, Goats and Fun Activities. There will be some Strawberries at the main farm fields but nothing compared to the other side. 3/22/2025 1 Comment Saturday evening March 22And another beautiful day although it was a little windy in the afternoon. A lighter wind and 87 is in the forecast for tomorrow which will be nice. The folks that come here are amazing, I saw so many smiling happy faces today.
The Farm opens at 1pm on Spring Sundays. Tomorrows crop forecast is almost the same as the last post. Concerning Strawberries: Opening at 1pm tomorrow will be good to give a few more berries time to ripen but even so, ripe Strawberries will be in very short supply. Come tomorrow to have some outdoor fun, wait a week to load up on Strawberries. I still believe this coming Thursday morning will be the beginning of a lot of berries to pick. Hope to see you soon!!! |
