4/5/2025 0 Comments Saturday morning 4/5 That was a nice little rain - only a third of inch here. I don't see any heading our way on the radar and our forecast calls for clearing skies this afternoon. Currently we have very little standing water which I think will be gone in an hour or two. I think today is going to turn out to be a stellar day.
There are lots of Strawberries to pick. The Field Trip side (the left side of the road) is a little bit better drained so we are going to pick Strawberries on both sides of the road. Two of the fields at the main farm have grassy middles and will be easy to pick in mud free. The Flower field might be a little slick here at first. A high of 65 today with a brisk wind is going to be very nice although folks might want a small jacket. Hope to see you soon!

4/4/2025 0 Comments Friday evening 4/4 Today turned out to be a beautiful day. The temperatures dropped mid afternoon and made everyone say "I wish it would stay like this for a week".
Not a drop of rain so far today. We still have a good chance tonight and first thing in the morning. The Farm will be open rain or shine. We might close the Berry Bounce and Train during a shower but otherwise, all will be running - even Concessions. Ripe Strawberry supply is very good. There will be plenty of berries for tomorrow and probably Sunday too. Berry production has been all over the place this year but it looks like, weather permitting, all next week should be exceptional picking. The Ranunculus flower field is gorgeous. It seems to me that maybe the field has peaked. Of course we will pick every last one but I wonder if we can make it to Easter with them. Expect an update in the morning by 9am concerning field conditions. Hope to see you soon! 4/4/2025 0 Comments Friday morning 8amIt is a beautiful morning! So far we have not had any rain here at the Farm and currently there is none on the radar. Our forecast has a good chance of rain at some point today so , if coming today, keep an eye on the sky.. The Farm is open rain or shine so we will be here with smiling faces.
Ripe Strawberries and beautiful flowers are plentiful. The picking should be very good today and tomorrow, I think Sunday too but lets see how the next two days go. Picking Strawberries on both sides of the road today. Hope to see you soon! 4/1/2025 0 Comments Tuesday evening 4/1Please remember, the Farm is closed on Wednesday.
When we started the Farm we decided to close Wednesday so we could take a break and get the kids to Wednesday night church. Somehow the break never transpired and we ended up working harder on Wednesday than any other day. Wednesday is the day we do stuff like mowing, cleaning restrooms and stuff we don't like doing around customers. It IS a good day for the fields to rest though which makes Thursday morning the best day of the week to pick. This Thursday should be no exception. Thursday and Friday we will be picking Strawberries on the LEFT (turn left at the Field Trip sign) side of the road but you can still pick at the main farm if you want to make just one stop. Berry production has been up and down but I think we will have berries through April barring any disasters. These Spring storms are very unpredictable and can bring hail in a moments notice. I had an old lady tell me one time that if you can hit the hail in the air with an iron skillet it will stop. Everybody get your skillet out. The Ranunculus field is spectacular and in full bloom. I have been told that they are just past peak bloom and will start to decline over the next two to three weeks. Hopefully they will hang around long enough for Easter but only time will tell. Hope to see you soon! |
